SECP Extends AGM Deadline for Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd

Islamabad, The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has granted Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) an extension for holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023. Originally scheduled to meet regulatory deadlines, PTCL now has until May 29, 2024, to convene its AGM.

This extension provides PTCL additional time to prepare and disseminate its annual financial statements and engage with its shareholders on the company’s performance, future strategy, and governance matters. The decision underscores SECP’s commitment to flexibility and support for listed companies in fulfilling their governance obligations amid operational challenges.

PTCL, a leader in telecom services in Pakistan, is anticipated to discuss its annual financial results, strategic initiatives, and operational updates with its shareholders at the forthcoming AGM. The extended timeline is expected to allow for thorough preparation and a comprehensive review of the company’s affairs for the year ended December 31, 2023.
