Mumbai, A joint operation by Indian security forces in Maharashtra has resulted in the deaths of four individuals, identified as members of the Naxalite movement, marking another intense encounter in the ongoing conflict within the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the operation took place in the forested area of Gadchiroli, near the border with Chhattisgarh, involving personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police. The individuals killed were identified as significant figures within the Naxalite hierarchy, including DVCM Vargeesh and DVCM Magtu, who were secretaries of their respective area committees, and platoon members Kursang Raju and Kudimetta Venkatesh.
The operation, involving the Gadchiroli police’s C-60 commando unit and the CRPF’s Quick Action team, underscores the ongoing security efforts to address the Naxalite insurgency, a movement that has posed significant challenges to state authority in central India.
