Senate Standing Committee on Law defers three bills

Islamabad, December 13, 2016 (PPI-OT): Standing Committee on Law and Justice in its meeting deferred The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2016 by Senator Zaheer-ud-din Babar Awan and The Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2016 as passed by National Assembly and The National Commission for International Law and Commitments Bill, 2016 by Senator Karim Ahmed Khawaja till the next meeting of the committee.

The Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2016 by Senator Azam Swati was rejected by the committee. Regarding the status of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the committee was told that it is an autonomous body in its functioning and its governing council has representation of all provinces. The matter was disposed off. The committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Senator Javed Abbasi.
