Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has strongly condemned the heart-breaking incident of desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and said that the incident of desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden has badly affected the feelings and emotions of more than two billion Muslims living around the world. He said that no religion in the world allows such an ugly and heinous act. He said that on the occasion of Holy Qur’an Day, the people participated in protest rallies and processions across the country on this incident. The grief and anger found in the people of Pakistan is a proof of their undying love for the Holy Quran and the religion of Islam. He expressed these views in his message on the occasion of Holy Quran Day.
The speaker said that the Holy Quran is a universal book which was revealed by Allah Almighty to the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW and teaches love, selflessness, sacrifice and peace and harmony for humanity. He said that Islam is a religion of peace and security. And teaches to maintain peace and tolerance with the believers of all religions, he said that the incident of desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden is to distance the believers of different religions from each other and There is a heinous conspiracy to create hatred and ugliness in the hearts of each other. Urged international organizations and states to enact legislation to criminalize desecration of sacred religious rites. He welcomed the meeting of the OIC to formulate recommendations to combat Islamophobia and clarify the collective strategy for the future and urged the international community to take appropriate measures to promote inter-religious harmony.
