Karachi, The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed fluctuating trading activity in the shares of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGP) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) on Thursday, 22 March, according to the market’s closing summary.
SNGP’s ordinary shares opened at PKR 61.99 and closed slightly higher at PKR 62.45 after trading between a low of PKR 60.8 and a high of PKR 61.04 throughout the day. A total of 704,785 shares were traded, closing at PKR 62.01. Additionally, futures trading for SNGP showed varied performance with the April, March, and May contracts closing at PKR 63.62, PKR 62.5, and PKR 65.19, respectively. Notably, the May contract did not record any trading activity, indicating its closing price as an adjustment.
SSGC’s trading day showed a positive trend with its ordinary shares opening at PKR 10.93 and closing at PKR 11.15, after moving between PKR 10.81 and PKR 10.97. The company traded 373,093 shares with a closing price of PKR 11.03. In the futures market, SSGC’s performance was mixed with the April contract closing at PKR 11.32, and the March and May contracts closing at PKR 11.05 and PKR 11.6, respectively. Like SNGP’s May contract, SSGC’s May futures also saw no trading activity, suggesting a closing adjustment.
The day’s trading highlighted the ongoing interest and speculation in the futures of Sui gas companies, reflecting investors’ expectations and the companies’ projected performance in the coming months.
