Three Civilians Detained in Rajouri by Indian Police Under Controversial Act

Karachi, In Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have arrested three civilians, including a woman, as part of intensified operations against alleged militancy. The individuals were detained during house raids in the Budhal area and are being held under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, a statute often criticized for its stringent provisions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrests are part of a broader crackdown in the region, where Indian authorities have labeled the detainees as over ground workers (OGWs) for militant groups. The police claim to have identified seven additional OGWs, with ongoing search operations to apprehend them.

Concurrently, extensive cordon and search operations have been deployed across Rajouri and Poonch districts by Indian military and paramilitary forces, indicating a significant escalation in security measures in these areas.
