Government to Solarize Agricultural Tube-Wells in Balochistan

Islamabad, The government has taken a significant step towards sustainable agriculture in Balochistan by deciding to convert agricultural tube-wells to solar power. This decision was made during a meeting led by Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Leghari presided over the discussion where he tasked officials from the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) with the job of detailing the feeders dedicated to agricultural tube wells. The initiative aims to reduce the region’s dependency on conventional electricity and promote the use of renewable energy sources.

This transition to solar power is expected to bring economic relief to farmers while also contributing to environmental sustainability by reducing the carbon footprint associated with traditional electricity consumption in the agricultural sector.
