United States-Pakistan Business Council delegation calls on Minister of State/Chairman Privatisation Commission

Islamabad, March 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): A six member delegation of US-Pakistan Business Council, including Mr. Miles Young Chairman of the US-Pakistan Business Council, Esperenza Gomez Jelalian and Taher Khan called on the Minister of State/ Chairman Privatisation Commission Mohammad Zubair in his office today. Secretary Privatisation Amjad Ali Khan and senior officers were present in the meeting.

Privatisation is an essential part of the economic agenda of the present government, and the Prime Minister is committed to the program, Mohammad Zubair told the delegation. Main objective behind the program is to save the country’s economy from bleeding and to provide quality service to the people of Pakistan, which is their foremost right.

The government is looking for some strategic partners who have financial muscles and the management skill to run these entities in an efficient way, the Chairman stated further. If we are serious to improve the economy and put it on the right track, we have to take some difficult decisions for long term economic benefits, Mohammad Zubair concluded. Members of the delegation took keen interest in the privatisation program of Pakistan and told that the program will encourage the foreign investors to invest in Pakistan.
