US urges Afghan government to prevent terrorist attacks

The United States has urged the Afghan interim government to ensure that terrorist attacks are not launched from Afghanistan.

The US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller while responding to a question at his regular news briefing in Washington, said the United States has a shared interest with the people and Government of Pakistan in combating threats to regional security.

He said the Pakistani people have suffered greatly at the hands of violent extremists and terrorists.

The spokesman said the United States continues to urge the Taliban to ensure that terrorist attacks are not launched from the Afghan soil.
