Visitors create new record at Karachi zoo and Safari Park

Karachi, August 25, 2012 (PPI-OT): Citizens of Karachi created a new record of visiting Karachi Zoo and Safari Park when these two recreational facilities registered the entry of over 4.5 Lac people during the last week. The citizens especially children and women expressed great interest in the newly inducted captives including the pair of white lion which had been imported from South Africa and kept in an especially build acrylic glass enclosure for providing a new and unique experience of watching king of jungle to the visitors.

Besides the recently arrived Bengal tiger and pair of Puma also created attraction for people who expressed their pleasure while seeing the big cats. According to statistics around 70 thousand visitors registered daily at Karachi Zoo and Safari Park during the last week. The citizens also expressed huge interest in the restored facilities of boating and Mumtaz Mahal while the famous Mughal Garden also attracted large number of visitors after completion of its renovation work.

Presenting the style of Mughal Architecture, the newly restored Mughal Garden was now adding to the beauty of zoo with its greenery, beautiful flowers and the fountains in the middle. The zoo administration was working on a plan to induct more captives including hippopotamus, rhinoceros and other valued animals in Karachi Zoo whereas a Magic Show would also be introduced soon.

The fish aquarium of Karachi Zoo had been made even better with the induction of more new and colourful fishes and the stuffing of expired animals was also started again. The Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan was briefed about the new and improved facilities provided in the Zoo and Safari Park by Director Zoo Dr. Kazim Raza and Director Safari Park Salman Shamsi.

He was informed that the citizens had not only appreciated the new measures for bringing improvement in these facilities but also provided encouragement to the administration by visiting Karachi Zoo and Safari Park in large numbers. The newly launched train service had attracted the interest of the visitors and the new swings providing good recreation to children.

The Metropolitan Commissioner called it a good omen that the citizens were getting even better recreation facilities in the Karachi Zoo and Safari Park. He said that these new measures would continue in future too so that these recreation points could be made modern and well standard facilities in the city.
