Voter Arrested in Uttar Pradesh for Multiple Voting Incident

Lucknow, In a significant breach of electoral integrity, Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested a young man identified as Rajan Singh, who was caught on video casting multiple votes for a BJP candidate in the recent elections.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the video, which quickly went viral on social media platforms, shows Singh repeatedly voting for BJP candidate Mukesh Rajput at a polling booth in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. The incident led to uproar among opposition parties, including Congress and Samajwadi Party, who circulated the video widely.

Following the video’s spread, an FIR was lodged at Naya Gaon police station by ARO Prateet Tripathi. Singh faces charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Representation of the People Act, relating to election fraud and secrecy violations. The arrest has sparked a broader discussion on the need for stricter electoral security and integrity in India’s voting processes.
