WFP to Assist in Rehabilitation Efforts for Pakistan’s Flood Victims

Islamabad: The World Food Program (WFP) has announced its intention to support the rehabilitation of flood victims in Pakistan, as discussed in a meeting between the program’s Country Director, Coco Ushiyama, and Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Minister for National Food Security and Research.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meeting in Islamabad today, Ushiyama expressed concern about potential food shortages affecting the flood-stricken populations and affirmed WFP’s commitment to assisting in the recovery process. Minister Hussain welcomed the WFP’s support and reiterated the government’s dedication to addressing the immediate food and nutritional needs of those impacted by the floods.

Furthermore, Minister Hussain praised the WFP for its broader contributions to Pakistan, notably in providing skills training to the youth, which aligns with national efforts to empower young people in the affected regions.
