World Day Against Trafficking in Persons observed

The World Day against Trafficking in Persons was observed on Tuesday.

This year theme of the day is “Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking.”

According to the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, children are twice as likely as adults to face violence during trafficking.

In his message on World Day Against Human Trafficking, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has appreciated Federal Investigation Agency for remaining vigilant and bringing many offenders to justice.

Mohsin Naqvi said unemployment, poverty, and unequal distribution of wealth has contributed to an increase in human trafficking.

He also said that international community should make efforts to combat human traffickers as they play with the lives of thousands in pursuit of greed.
