Lahore: Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan of 10th common joined the Police Service as ASP in 1988. As an SP, he served in Faisalabad, Pakpattan and Kasur. He also performed his duties as AIG (Discipline) in 1999. After being promoted as SSP, he was posted in Bahawalnagar. During this tenure, he worked as Director Anti Corruption Peshawar, SSP Special Branch, Lahore and as DPO Sahiwal. In 2008, he was promoted to grade 20 and posted as DIG R and D. In 2009, he served as RPO Bahawalpur. He also served in Finance, R and D and Inspection and Vigilance, Punjab. In 2012, he was promoted in grade 21 and posted as Addl: IGP R and D.
Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan got various certificates of professional courses like ATC, VVIP Protection, Personal Management, Human Resources Development, Critical Incident Management, Human Rights, Public Management and lots of other training courses from the period of 1987 to 2010.
Malik Khuda Bakhsh is a known writer who produced various publications titled as Analysis of Crime against Women in Pakpattan/Kasur, Operation Moon 7, Private Security Agencies, Anti-Corruption Strategies, Crime Prevention Tips/Sale Home Scheme, Investigator as a Witness, Drug Prevention Tips, Interrogation Techniques and Benevolent Policing.
Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan was born in Sargodha in 1957. He got his Masters Degree in English from Punjab University. He also got a certificate from Howard University in executive leadership.
