Lahore, June 08, 2023 (PPI-OT): A revolutionary step of the Punjab government for the treatment and rehabilitation of people paralyzed in accidents, the Paraplegic Services Project was launched for the entire province under the direction of caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, where people paralyzed due to injuries in traffic and other accidents Treatment will be possible. Paralytic Rehabilitation Center will provide immediate medical assistance to injured patients at risk of stroke. Prompt treatment will prevent the patient from becoming paralyzed. For the first time in the 5 paralytic rehabilitation centers to be established in the first phase, the facility of trans-spinal card surgery will also be provided.
On the instructions of caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in the first phase, Paraplegic servers will be installed at one hub center and four satellite centers across the province. A special center will be set up for people paralyzed in accidents at DHQ Hospital in Multan. Paraplegic services will be available at Sumanabad Hospital, Faisalabad General Hospital, Lahore. wow Paraplegic services will also be started in THQs of Cantt and Tunsa where people paralyzed in various types of accidents will be treated immediately.
Modern physiotherapy machines will also be available at the paralytic rehabilitation center for rehabilitation in case of spinal cord injury. Prosthetic limb workshop will be established at the centers for the rehabilitation of disabled persons. An in-principle decision has been taken to outsource the prosthetic workshop and the supervising provincial cabinet has approved the establishment of a paraplegic rehabilitation centre.
