Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani have both praised the successful launch of Pakistan’s second communication satellite, Paksat MM1, as a significant milestone in the nation’s space and communications development.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the satellite was launched from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Centre, underscoring the strong partnership between Pakistan and China in space technology. The Prime Minister celebrated this achievement as a major step forward in enhancing internet connectivity across Pakistan and commended the dedication of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission and all individuals involved in the mission.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, present at the launch site in China, highlighted the satellite’s role in improving connectivity and expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan’s space endeavors, suggesting that the country might soon launch satellites with its own rockets.
Acting President Gillani also conveyed his congratulations, acknowledging the efforts of the scientists and engineers responsible for the launch of Paksat MM1 and expressing hope for the continued success of Pakistan’s space journey.
