Alert Issued in Islamabad Against Impersonators Posing as Senior NAB Officials

Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has issued a warning to the public about individuals impersonating senior officials to extort money and concessions from government officials and businessmen.

According to Press Information Department, there has been a rise in cases of fraudsters using phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp calls, and fake letters, claiming to be NAB officials. These impersonators have been reportedly coercing their targets into giving money or illegal benefits. The NAB clarifies that it has no connection to these fraudulent activities and conducts all official correspondence solely through formally issued, letterhead documents, not through informal communications such as phone or WhatsApp messages.

The general public is advised to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities that mimic official NAB communications. Legal actions have been intensified against those caught impersonating NAB officials, with multiple arrests already made. Contact details for reporting such activities have been provided by NAB to ensure public safety and uphold the integrity of its operations.
