Amarnath Pilgrimage Surpasses 300,000 Attendees

Srinagar: The Amarnath Yatra, an annual pilgrimage to the revered ice lingam in South Kashmir, has seen over 300,000 pilgrims this season, underscoring its significance and the devotion of its attendees.

According to Kashmir Media Service, on Sunday alone 14,974 pilgrims visited the cave shrine, bringing the total to 309,957 for the current season. The attendees included 9,755 male pilgrims, 3,291 female pilgrims, 245 Sadhus, and one Sadhvi, demonstrating a diverse group of devotees. The pilgrimage, held at the 3,880-meter high cave shrine, also saw participation from over 1,500 security personnel and 159 children. This year’s figures are approaching the previous year’s total of over 450,000 pilgrims.
