Anti Narcotics Force launches crackdown against poppy cultivation in other 5 operations, recovers drugs, arrest 5 persons and seize 1 vehicle

Islamabad, April 21, 2014 (PPI-OT): ANF has launched clean – up operation against Poppy Cultivation. In this regards 6 localities were targeted and a total of 522 Acres of Poppy Crops has been destroyed at Balochistan, KPK and Sindh. According to details, ANF in coordination with Provincial Government destroyed Poppy Crop at Baluchistan of 39.5 Acres at Distt Loralai, 317.8 Acres at Tehsil Duki and 76 Acres at Tehsil Mekhtar.

Poppy eradication at KPK has been carried out of 63 Acres of Torghar, Distt Hazara. Likewise poppy destruction at Sindh was done for 26 Acres at Tehsil Qambar and Tehsil Warah. Further operations are under progress and more poppy eradication is expected.

Besides poppy eradication, ANF conducted 5 operations in the provinces of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan, recovered 1980 Kgs Poppy Straw, 70.7 Kgs Chraras, 1.500 Kgs Heroin, 3.74 Kgs Opium, arrested 5 persons and seized 1 vehicle.

ANF Balochistan intercepted a Hino Truck No. SEA – 083 in general area Kharr Daulatzai, Tehsil Mekhtar, District Loralai and recovered 1980 Kgs Poppy straw from the truck. Two accused namely Sami Ullah S/o Zain Ud Din and Habib Ullah S/o Abdul Raziq, both r/o Killi Saghri, Tehsil Bori, District Loralai, have been arrested.

ANF Lahore on information intercepted an unattended bag lying at village Mian Raheema, near Khanq ah Dogran, Tehsil Pindi Bhatian, District Hafizabad and recovered 69.600 Kgs Charas and 3.600 Kgs Opium. Subsequently, case was registered against anonymous accused.

A NF Rawalpindi intercepted a consignment containing 1 carton of kitchen items and recovered 1.500 Kgs Herion (Brown) tactfully concealed in 3 pots and 8 trays. It was booked from USL Express International Courier Cargo Services, Gulzar E Quid, Rawalpindi, by Ansar Ali S/o Rehmat Ali R /o H. No. A – 32, Mohallah Bhopol, Tehsil Sabrial, District Sialkot and was distained for Mrs. Zarreda Nazir, 12 – Snowdrop Messallertion, UK.

On back tracking, the consignee namely Ansar Ali S/o Rehan Ali (Fake Name) was arrested from Lahore. During investigation, the accused revealed that his actual name as Zubair Ahmed S/o Karam Ellahi r/o H. No. 1134, St. 17, Bakra Perri, Mewa Shah, Leyari, Karachi.

ANF Karachi arrested Ghulam Mustafa Ghadani S/o Muhmmad Ayaz and Atta Hussian S /o Mumtaz Ali, both r/o Sukkur and recovered 14 0 Gms Opium and 1.10 Kgs Charas from their personal possession. They were arrested at Mohallah Kumbar, New Pina, Sukkur. Cases against all the accused persons have been registered in ANF Police Stations and further investigation is under process.
