Anti Narcotics Force pointation led mega heroin seizure by international counterparts; over 1 ton Heroin seized in Indian Ocean

Islamabad, April 29, 2014 (PPI-OT): According to details, ANF intelligence received source information that a Mega Heroin shipment is on a dhow at sea, which is intended for loading on mother-ship in Indian Ocean.ANF immediately passed on the information to their international counterparts National Crime Agency (NCA) of UK, which has deployment of Interdiction Force in the area.

Soon after, NCA passed the information at their Bahrain office, who conceded it as actionable intelligence and shared with Combined Task Force150. In April 2014, the Command of Combined Task Force is being performed by Australia.

Consequently, Australian Warship HMAS Darwin spotted the vessel about 27 nautical miles east of Mombasa, Kenya. The interception resulted in recovery of 46sacks of Heroin, weighing 1039 Kgs which was tactfully concealed amongst cement bags.

During whole operation ANF intelligence kept on providing latest information to foreign counterparts. The heroin seizure is regarded as one of the mega seizures and amounts approximately US$ 290 Million or Rs 29 Billion / Arabian international market. National Crime Agency (NCA) of UK in a letter of appreciation recognized the authentic intelligence and subsequent input by ANF Intelligence.
