Egypt Stress Urgent Gaza Ceasefire

Banjul, Pakistan and Egypt have emphasized the immediate need for a ceasefire in Gaza and urged for the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the region, following a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Foreign Minister of Egypt, Sameh Hassan Shoukry, on the sidelines of the 15th OIC Islamic Summit in Banjul, Gambia.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both officials reaffirmed the critical importance of an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza to alleviate the suffering of its inhabitants. They also underscored the necessity for uninterrupted humanitarian assistance to be provided to the people of Gaza.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar commended Egypt’s crucial role in facilitating the continuous supply of humanitarian aid to Gaza, highlighting the country’s pivotal position in addressing the humanitarian crisis in the region.
