Islamabad, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, the Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, has stated that attempts to desecrate religious places in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir will not deter the spirit of the Kashmiri people but instead fortify their resolve.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Islamabad, Safi denounced the recent desecration and attempted demolition of a mosque in Kathua district. He criticized the Indian authorities for what he described as a deliberate strategy to alter the demographic balance of the region under the pretext of removing encroachments.
Safi argued that such actions constitute a direct attack on the religious freedoms of the Kashmiri people, amounting to what he termed as “open Indian state terrorism” against those who protested the violation of their sacred sites. He emphasized that the Hurriyat Conference views the destruction of any mosque as an unacceptable interference with their religious practices, urging the international community to recognize and condemn the brutality and human rights violations being perpetrated.
