Heightened Security Measures Enacted in Kashmir for Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar, As the annual Amarnath Yatra begins, authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have rolled out extensive security measures, affecting local populations and daily activities.

According to Kashmir Media Service, officials cite security concerns as the rationale for the robust security deployment that includes a massive presence of police, army, and paramilitary forces along key routes such as the Srinagar-Jammu Highway. The first group of Hindu pilgrims arrived in the region on Friday, marking the commencement of the pilgrimage.

The security arrangements feature multi-layered checks, enhanced surveillance, and continuous monitoring along the pilgrimage route. Drones, CCTV cameras, and aerial surveillance technologies are being used extensively. Special Quick Reaction Teams have also been positioned strategically to respond to any potential incidents rapidly.

The extensive militarization for the pilgrimage, which includes deploying thousands of additional paramilitary personnel beyond the already substantial military presence, has intensified the atmosphere of fear and disruption among the local Kashmiri residents.
