Azad Kashmir Moves Toward Islamic Welfare State with New Social Protection Fund

Muzaffarabad, In a significant step toward fulfilling his vision of transforming Azad Kashmir into an Islamic welfare state, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq successfully spearheaded the approval of a substantial financial measure in the Legislative Assembly. The assembly unanimously passed a supplementary grant to fund the newly established Azad Kashmir Social Protection Endowment Fund, aimed at supporting vulnerable segments of the society.

According to Press Information Department – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the newly approved Social Protection Ordinance mandates the provision of financial assistance to orphans, widows, the destitute, divorced, and disabled individuals directly at their homes. This move aligns with Prime Minister Haq’s commitment made a year ago to enhance the welfare of those who feel marginalized within the state.
