BJP Supporters Allegedly Attack Congress Office in Amethi

Amethi, The Congress office in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, was reportedly attacked by individuals identified as supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of a scheduled visit by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the assailants vandalized numerous cars outside the Congress office. The incident, described as occurring late at night, saw local police accused of inaction during the attack. The Congress has attributed the violence to the BJP’s fear of defeat in the upcoming polls in Amethi, where Smriti Irani is contesting as the BJP candidate. Following the attack, Priyanka Gandhi announced her intention to remain in the constituencies of Amethi and RaeBareli until the polling day on May 20. Authorities have launched an investigation, registering a case against unknown perpetrators.
