Body of Missing Youth Found in Poonch, Investigation Underway

Jammu, The body of Imtiaz Ahmed, a 28-year-old who had been missing since April 23, was recovered in the Dunugam area of Mandi tehsil, Poonch district in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ahmed, a resident of Dunugam village, was last seen over a week ago, and his mobile phone had been switched off since his disappearance. Local police received a tip on Thursday evening about a body spotted in a mountainous area of Dunugam. Following the tip, locals, family members, and police personnel arrived at the scene and retrieved the body.

The authorities have transported the body to District Hospital, Poonch, where all legal formalities were completed before it was handed over to the family for last rites. Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ahmed’s death.
