Britain Reinforces Commitment to Collaborative Efforts with Pakistan

Islamabad: Britain has pledged to continue its collaboration with Pakistan across various sectors, highlighting ongoing commitments during a recent meeting between British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper and Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in London.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions between Cooper and Naqvi focused on strengthening cooperation in areas such as border management, police training, and legal assistance in criminal matters. Naqvi congratulated Cooper on her appointment as Home Secretary and they explored ways to enhance the bilateral relationship further.

The meeting also addressed the training of Pakistani police officers in the UK, strategies for managing illegal immigration, and joint efforts to combat it more effectively. Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s openness to British support in police training and expressed a strong stance against leniency for those inciting violence via social media.

On her part, Cooper affirmed the importance Britain places on its relations with Pakistan, reflecting a mutual interest in deepening ties. Naqvi extended an invitation to Cooper to visit Pakistan, aiming to continue high-level engagements and foster closer bilateral cooperation.
