Lahore, February 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): In today’s world, IT knowledge is of prime importance as not only it unlocks the doors of progress and prosperity but also provides a chance to get access to global opportunities.
This was stated by LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari while speaking at certificate-awarding ceremony arranged for the participants of “LCCI IT Training Course Batch 11” here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. LCCI Vice President Kashif Anwar also spoke on the occasion while LCCI Secretary General Syed Muhammad Saqlain Naqvi, Instructor of the course Mr Qamar Siddique were also present.
The LCCI President said in the knowledge race in the 21st century and rapid globalization, the quality of information technology-based education has to be enhanced to bring it at par with international standards for bringing the country out of economic mire.
“And to achieve the goal, the government would have to spend more on education as the existing budget is too meager to produce desired and required results.”
Engineer Sohail Lashari said that it had now become very important to extend every possible help to students as their competitors into the job market are the students from the developed world.
“Right out of the gate of their Alma Mater, our students face altogether new challenges, therefore they must be equipped well to cope with these challenges and for the purpose the educational institutions must continue to review and upgrade their curricula.
He said that the educationists must stay in touch with private sector to get a feedback on upcoming industry requirements regarding new hiring. The curriculum should be designed in proper consultation with the private sector that has both the ability and the capacity to guide the educationists in right direction.
He said in the job market the people having knowledge of information technology are given preference over those who are without it. He said that the only objective behind starting computer courses at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to equip members of this chamber with latest business technologies so that they could be able to get a respectable place in the world market.
He said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would continue to play its role for the promotion of education and would conduct such courses in the IT field.
