FM Calls for Early Resumption of PIA Flights to Europe

Islamabad, Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar underlined the importance of direct flights between Pakistan and European countries, advocating for the prompt resumption of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Europe.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Dar voiced this sentiment during a meeting with EU Ambassador Riina Kionka. The Foreign Minister emphasized the need for enhanced connectivity between Pakistan and Europe.

During the discussions, Minister Dar and Ambassador Kionka deliberated on the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the European Union (EU), expressing contentment with the notable progress achieved through Pakistan-EU institutional mechanisms. Minister Dar acknowledged the EU as a valued partner for Pakistan, highlighting the mutual benefits of the partnership.

Acknowledging the EU’s consistent support to Pakistan, Minister Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership across various domains, including trade, migration, and climate change. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reported that Ambassador Kionka assured Pakistan of full cooperation in the realm of economic diplomacy.
