CAIR, coalition partners to hold Maryland rally against discriminatory bans

Baltimore City, Maryland (IINA) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on Sunday will hold a rally here in Maryland State, in partnership with a number of advocacy and interfaith groups, including CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and Jews United for Justice to protest the recently-signed ‘Muslim Ban 2.0’ presidential executive order.

Rally participants will also condemn hate crimes against members of minority communities, deportations of immigrants and the expansion of the U.S.-Mexico border wall.

“Inciting fear, emboldening intolerance and targeting marginalized communities does not help keep our nation safe,” said CAIR Maryland Outreach Manager Zainab Chaudry. “Our goal for this peaceful demonstration is to provide a space for Maryland’s impacted communities and our allies to gather in solidarity.”

CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
