Capital Development Authority asked to initiate development works in markets on priority

Islamabad, March 05, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) should constitute a task force with specific responsibility to initiate development works in markets on priority basis as due to lack of development, the condition of markets has deteriorated significantly, this was stressed by Abdul Rauf, former President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman Founder Group. He was addressing business community after inaugurating a restaurant in a local market.

Abdul Rauf said developmental works in markets have not been done since long due to which the condition of basic infrastructure was in pathetic state. He called upon the Chairman and Member Administration CDA to pay priority attention to address issues of markets.

He said with the efforts of ICCI, 337 plots were got allotted for auto workshops and steel fabricators 15 years ago and successful businesses were running on said plots, however, CDA could not materialize the plan of shifting workshops out of city as yet. He asked concerned market representatives to prepare a list of remaining workshops in order to take up this issue with CDA for redress.

Abdul Rauf said CDA was not facing any shortage of funds, but was lacking in good administration. He said Maroof Afzal Chairman and Amir Ali Ahmed Member Admin CDA has the potential and urge to resolve the traders issues and business community was looking for positive measures from them. Khalid Chaudhry, former Senior Vice President of ICCI, Traders Welfare Association, Fire Brigade Market Acting President Raja Saeed and Senior Vice President Naveed Malik also addressed the meeting.
