CDA Chairman Supervises Drainage Operations in Islamabad Amid Heavy Rainfall

Islamabad: Following heavy rainfall, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa actively supervised drainage efforts across various locations in the city, implementing measures to manage water accumulation and ensure smooth traffic flow.

According to Capital Development Authority announcement issued on 10 July 2024, the directive from Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi prompted immediate action to address water logging in low-lying areas and streets of Islamabad. The Chairman’s field presence was part of a broader initiative involving CDA, the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and the district administration, all tasked with remaining on-site until drainage operations were fully completed.

Special teams have been deployed in both sectoral and non-sectoral areas, with all emergency response centers in the city activated. Efforts are concentrated on crucial sites like underpasses to prevent disruptions. For emergencies, citizens have been advised to use the CDA helpline.
