Chaman Prepares for Independence Day with Emphasis on Civic Pride and Security

Chaman: In anticipation of Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14, District Commissioner Captain R. Raja Athar chaired a comprehensive meeting with all department heads in Chaman to finalize preparations for the national celebration. The DC stressed the importance of readiness across various sectors, from municipal beautification to heightened security measures.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting outlined several directives aimed at enhancing the festive atmosphere and ensuring public safety. DC Athar mandated the renovation and decoration of all government offices with Pakistani flags and urged the Municipal Corporation to prioritize the cleanliness of city parks, grounds, and public spaces to reflect the city’s high standards.

Security was a key focus, with the DC instructing the police and Levies forces to increase patrolling and conduct thorough checks of suspicious individuals and vehicles to maintain peace and ensure public safety. Additionally, the health department was ordered to have all doctors and paramedics on duty to handle any emergencies.

Educational institutions have been tasked with organizing cultural programs, including speech contests and performances of national songs and tableaus. A formal ceremony is set to take place at the Government Girls College Chaman, featuring participation from students, political and tribal leaders, and local officials.

DC Athar also reminded attendees of the significance of freedom, reflecting on Pakistan’s status as a nuclear power and its aspirations towards economic and scientific advancement. He emphasized the collective effort needed to elevate Pakistan among the ranks of developed nations. Moreover, he announced a prohibition on the display of weapons and celebratory gunfire throughout the festivities, with strict penalties for violations.
