Chief Minister Gandapur Inaugurates Wheat Procurement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has officially launched the wheat procurement season at the DI Khan Provincial Reserve Center. During the visit, accompanied by Provincial Food Minister Zahir Shah Toro and other senior officials, the Chief Minister discussed strategies to support local farmers and enhance the region’s agricultural output.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Gandapur was briefed on the details of the procurement process, which includes purchasing three lakh metric tons of wheat from local farmers at a rate of 3900 rupees per 40 kg, with an allocation for 40 thousand metric tons specifically from DI Khan.

The total expenditure for this procurement is set at 29 billion rupees. Gandapur emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness in the process, announcing the formation of district-level committees and the introduction of an online application to oversee the procurement activities. Additionally, he highlighted the government’s commitment to reinvesting the 12 billion rupees benefit from local wheat purchases into the construction and repair of storage facilities.

The Chief Minister also reiterated the provincial government’s stance on anti-corruption, warning that no compromises would be made regarding the quality of wheat or the integrity of the procurement process. He underscored the severe consequences for both bribe-takers and bribe-givers, affirming that strict measures would be taken to ensure a corruption-free operation across all governmental sectors.
