Lahore, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a significant decrease in inflation in Punjab, from 36% to 17%, attributing this reduction to effective governmental policies. In a further commitment to enhancing provincial welfare, the Chief Minister has approved the establishment of a Special Education Center of Excellence in every district of Punjab.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, during a meeting that included the approval of 651 million in funds, it was revealed that 12 special education centers will undergo comprehensive revamps this year as part of the first phase. The Chief Minister highlighted that these centers will feature indoor and outdoor play areas, international standard special washrooms, and special activity rooms for children with disabilities. Additionally, live monitoring systems will be installed in the secretary’s office for real-time oversight, and children’s movements will be tracked in buses to ensure safety.
The session also saw the approval of various other measures aimed at improving the quality of life in Punjab. These include funding for smoke emission eliminators to identify vehicles violating pollution standards, the establishment of a Commissioner’s House on Upper Mall, and the digitization of settlement and rehabilitation records. The Chief Minister also approved the use of state funds for numerous other projects, such as field hospitals, solar systems for low-usage consumers, and archeological excavations at the ancient village of Ganveriwala.
These initiatives represent a broad spectrum of efforts by the Punjab government to enhance infrastructure, education, and public health, reflecting a comprehensive approach to provincial governance and development.
