Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Calls for Protection of Children on International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

Lahore, On the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued a poignant message calling for increased protection and care for children affected by violence and conflict worldwide. This day serves as a reminder of the dire circumstances faced by children in conflict zones and the urgent need for comprehensive protective measures.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Chief Minister Sharif stressed the severe impact of mental and physical violence on children, highlighting the deep psychological scars left by such brutalities. “The mental and physical violence inflicted on innocent lives by brutal human beings causes

children constant mental agony,” she noted, emphasizing the long-term effects of aggression on young minds and bodies.

In her message, Sharif condemned the horrors of war, abuse, and exploitation that no child should endure and reiterated that safeguarding children is a shared global responsibility. “Ensuring the safety of children is a collective responsibility,” she stated, calling for a united front to protect vulnerable young lives.

Sharif also advocated for a society where children can thrive in peace, free from fear and violence. She underscored the importance of special measures to protect the rights of children in war-torn areas, where their vulnerability is drastically increased.

The Chief Minister also voiced her distress over the plight of Palestinian children, criticizing the global silence over their suffering. “Hearing the death of innocent children in Palestine, my heart cries tears of blood,” Sharif lamented, questioning the inaction of nations that pride themselves on civility yet ignore such atrocities.

She concluded by urging global and local communities to collaborate in securing a better present and future for children, ensuring they can grow up in environments that foster their health, happiness, and education. “We all have to work together to improve the present and future of children and protect their rights,” she affirmed.

This message from the Chief Minister aims to ignite a renewed commitment to child protection, especially in regions beset by conflict and aggression, reflecting a critical aspect of global human rights advocacy.
