CPEC’s 2nd phase to promote B2B links b/w Pakistan, China

Islamabad, The second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is set to enhance business-to-business (B2B) connections between Pakistan and China, as outlined by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal. This strategic shift aims to bolster economic cooperation through direct corporate engagements.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Iqbal emphasized the importance of the upcoming phase in a video message prior to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China. He highlighted that a delegation of 126 Pakistani businessmen will accompany the Prime Minister, aiming to forge significant investment and export agreements with Chinese counterparts. This initiative represents a considerable opportunity for Pakistan to increase its exports to the vast Chinese market.

Minister Iqbal reminisced about the successes of CPEC’s initial phase, which was primarily focused on infrastructure enhancements, and noted its role in creating 200,000 job opportunities for Pakistani youth. He stressed the government’s commitment to sustaining a high growth rate as a continuation of this development agenda.
