Loralai Sets Stage for Integrated Digital Agricultural Census

Loralai, A high-level meeting led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Zehri, in conjunction with the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), focused on preparations for the upcoming 7th Agriculture Census, which will be conducted digitally for the first time. The meeting underscored the importance of up-to-date agricultural data for Pakistan, an agriculturally driven country.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the gathering also highlighted the collaboration between various law enforcement teams to ensure the smooth operation of the census in different administrative areas. The meeting involved key figures such as Deputy Director of Lahostock Dr. Abdul Rahim Niazi and other district officials who are integral to the census process.

The discussion also set the groundwork for the training of enumerators and supervisors, with an emphasis on digital data collection techniques. This training, starting on July 22, will utilize interactive tools such as videos, audios, and images to prepare the workforce for the census beginning on September 1. This digital transition aims to integrate agriculture, livestock, and agricultural machinery data collection into a unified framework, improving the efficiency and accuracy of data gathered across 311 identified blocks in the region.
