KARACHI: H.E Yang Yundong, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, underscored the robust diplomatic and economic ties between China and Pakistan while calling for an increase in bilateral trade. “The friendship between China and Pakistan is an example for the world,” he stated, highlighting the mutual support shared by the two nations.
According to a statement by Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association, these remarks were made during a meeting with Arif Balgamwala, a renowned philatelist and Chief Advisor of PCDMA, at the Chinese Consulate. Balgamwala, who was invited to the consulate, presented a stamp folder to commemorate the Chinese New Year, which was warmly received by the Consul General.
The Chinese envoy expressed eagerness to expand trade in Pakistan but noted existing security concerns. He urged the Pakistani government to address these issues to facilitate Chinese traders’ visits and foster business partnerships. Additionally, he invited Balgamwala to attend an upcoming stamp show in China with a delegation.
Balgamwala expressed gratitude for the support extended to Pakistani traders and confirmed Pakistan’s participation in the stamp show in China. He announced plans to form a delegation for the Interdye 2025 exhibition, aimed at enhancing trade relations with China. Visa-related concerns were also addressed, with assurances from the Consul General regarding visa facilitation for Pakistani traders.
