CISF Constable Commits Suicide at Kolkata Airport

Kolkata, A tragic incident unfolded at Kolkata Airport as a constable from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), identified as C Vishnu, took his own life early today, using his service rifle.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Vishnu, who hailed from Telangana and had been serving since 2022, was found with a bullet injury to his forehead. The incident was reported by senior police officials who confirmed that the fatal shots were fired from Vishnu’s own service weapon.

Following the shooting, CISF and airport personnel quickly transported Vishnu to Charnock Hospital, where he was initially placed in a coma. Despite efforts to save him, he later succumbed to his injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, highlighting the pressing issue of mental health and support systems within the security forces.
