City Government Buried 940,879 Offal in Three Days

Karachi: DCO Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh has said that city and town administration in a joint operation during three days of Eid-ul-Azha buried 940,879 offal of sacrificial animals in trenches dug up for this purpose.

Combined sacrificial points on union council level also proved successful and would get even better as they offered convenience to citizens as well as city government to maintain cleanliness in the city during Eid-ul-Azha.

He also acknowledged the role of Municipal Services Department especially fire brigade, city wardens, malaria staff and machinery pool depot and town administration for taking part actively in the whole operation.

DCO Roshan Ali Shaikh said a total of 940,879 offal of sacrificial animals were lifted from different areas of city and buried in the trenches on scientific method. City government and town administration received 1446 complaints about lifting of offal which were addressed immediately.

City government had dug up 24 trenches for burial of offal while the town administration had also setup 103 offal collection points.

Besides lifting offal, the city and town administration also performed fumigation and perfume spray after cleaning and washing the roads and streets and sprinkled lime stone.

On the first day a total of 476,413 offal were lifted in the city. North Nazimabad town recorded maximum number of lifting of offal which was 56 thousand. On the second day of Eid 319,095 offal were buried by the city government after lifting and shifting it to dumping area.

Saddar town lifted maximum number of offal on second day which was 29,941. On the third day of Eid-ul-Azha a total of 145,371 offal of sacrificial animals were lifted from different areas of city till 6 pm and disposed off scientifically.
