Continued house detention of Gilani denounced

Srinagar, July 25, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum patronised by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has condemned the continued house detention of the veteran leader. The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the veteran leader returned from New Delhi on April 15 and since then he was continuously under the house detention and his political, social, religious and even his personal activities had been completely banned.

He said that the house arrest status of Syed Ali Gilani showed no change in the regime of the new puppet Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, and instead of producing any justification he was being imprisoned in his own house just on the barrel of gun like in the past. He added that the puppet administration had, so far, failed to explain that under which section and act of law Syed Ali Gilani was being confined to the four walls of his house.

The spokesman said that no court or administrative order was being produced to justify the illegal detention of the veteran leader. He said that Mufti Sayeed had actually surrendered his entire agenda before the BJP for the chair and he was following the orders from Nagpur, the headquarters of RSS. He said that Mufti had got badly exposed and he had proven to be a weak and so-called Chief Minister just like his predecessors Omer Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah.

The spokesman also condemned the house arrest of Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, and detention of other Hurriyet leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Falahi and Nazir Ahmad Mantoo. He said that the authorities were denying the space to the pro-freedom people and instead of facing them on political turf, the puppet regime was using cheap tactics to muzzle the voice of the Hurriyet leaders.
