New Delhi, July 03, 2023 (PPI-OT): Amidst controversies since its teaser launch, the propaganda film ’72 Hoorain’ is set for a special screening at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi. JNU has had a history of controversies whenever a hard-hitting movie has been screened in the premises. With 72 Hoorain, it could add another layer of complexity to the situation.
The previous instances of movie screening controversies demonstrated the polarising nature of hard-hitting films and the varying reactions they elicit. Despite that, the makers of 72 Hoorain have taken a risky yet firm step in putting up a screening of the film in the premises of the university tomorrow (Tuesday). Renowned religious figure Maulana Sajid Rashid earlier raised objections to the film 72 Hoorain, saying the makers have distorted religious teachings and insulted the tenets of the faith.
