Cordon and Search Operation in Poonch Enters Eighth Day

Jammu, The ongoing Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) by Indian forces in Poonch, following an attack on Indian Air Force vehicles, has entered its eighth consecutive day. The operation commenced after the incident on May 4 in Shashidhar, aimed at locating and apprehending the assailants.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the attack targeted two vehicles, resulting in injuries to five Indian army personnel. The attackers, whose identities remain unknown, opened fire in a strategically sensitive area, prompting an immediate and extensive military response. In response to the security breach, extensive searches are being conducted in several villages within the Poonch district, including Shaistar, Danna, Jarran Wali Gali, Gursai Top, and Sheindra, with a particular focus on densely forested regions.

Local police are also involved, conducting interrogations of those detained in connection with the attack. The combined forces of the army and police are maintaining a stringent cordon and continuing their search operations in an effort to restore security and apprehend those responsible for the violence.
