Delhi Rainfall Tragedy Claims Eight Lives, Including Three Laborers

New Delhi, The death toll from recent rain-related incidents in Delhi has risen to eight following the recovery of three laborers’ bodies from the debris of a collapsed wall during intense rainfall in the city.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the tragedy occurred at a construction site in the Vasant Vihar area of New Delhi, where an under-construction wall gave way under the relentless downpour. Rescue teams utilized cranes and pumps to remove the rubble and water, allowing them to retrieve the bodies.

DFS officials have identified two of the deceased as Santosh Kumar Yadav and another individual simply named Santosh, with identification efforts for the third victim still underway. This incident compounds the city’s woes after the heaviest June rainfall in nearly nine decades wreaked havoc last Friday, claiming five lives in separate events, including a cab driver at an airport and a man electrocuted in Rohini.
