Lahore, At the Golden Jubilee celebration of Paigham-e-Pakistan, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal underscored the critical role of political stability in fostering national development and urged for unity and collective effort to advance Pakistan’s progress.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Iqbal, addressing the gathering in Lahore today, reflected on historical achievements influenced by Islamic teachings and highlighted the nation’s past position as a development leader in South Asia. He noted that Pakistan’s earlier policies had served as a model for other countries in the region.
The Minister expressed concern over recent incidents in Jaranwala, Sargodha, and Swat, pointing out that such events have negatively impacted Pakistan’s international image. He strongly condemned terrorism, asserting that it has no place in Islam, and called on religious scholars to actively contribute to countering terrorism and protecting the country’s reputation.
Additionally, Iqbal drew attention to the situation in Palestine, urging international human rights organizations to intervene against the violence and oppression facing Palestinians.
