Demos in Pulwama against Kashmiri student’s killing in India

Srinagar, March 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, amid complete strike, massive protests erupted in Pulwama town and its adjoining areas, today, against the killing of a Kashmiri student, Mudasir Kamran, in a university in Hyderabad Deccan.Mudasir Kamran, a resident of Parigam area of Pulwama, who was pursuing Ph.D in English at English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room last evening.

As the word about his death spread in Pulwama this morning, people took to the streets and staged massive protests against the killing. Clashes between protesters and Indian police were also reported. All shops and other business establishments were closed while transport went off the road.

The family and the neighbours of the deceased told media men that he was murdered.
