Deputy PM Mohammad Ishaq Dar Advocates for Unified Action Against Islamophobia

Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar emphasized the need for collective efforts to combat Islamophobia, particularly amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a meeting with Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), on the sidelines of the 15th Islamic Summit in Banjul, The Gambia, Senator Ishaq Dar voiced Pakistan’s concerns over the increasing instances of discrimination, violence, and incitement against Muslims globally. He also expressed grave concern about the genocide in Gaza and the escalating conflict in the region.

Senator Dar called for an immediate ceasefire and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians. He reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the necessity of Israel’s complete withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories, including Jerusalem, and highlighted the Palestinians’ right to return and establish an independent state within the pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

During the meeting, Dar also discussed the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and criticized the use of excessive force by Indian security forces. He appreciated the OIC’s ongoing support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.

The OIC Secretary General reaffirmed the organization’s backing for the Kashmiri people, based on various OIC resolutions. Additionally, Dar lauded the OIC’s role in promoting peace in the Middle East and pledged Pakistan’s full support for these initiatives.
