Drabgam shuts on 2nd consecutive day

Srinagar, May 31, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Drabgam area of Pulwama district on the second consecutive day, today, to protest against the desecration of the grave of a martyred freedom-fighter, Sameer Ahmed Butt alias Sameer Tiger, by the Indian troops.

All shops, business establishments and educational institutions are closed while transport is off the road. Locals said that the troops vandalized the grave of ‘Sameer Tiger’ at the Martyrs’ Graveyard in the area and took away the gravestone. Sameer was killed along with another youth by the troops during a cordon and search operation on April 30, this year. It is pertinent to mention that grave of Sameer had become the centre of attraction, and it was decorated with flowers and flags.
