Islamabad, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) will assemble 129 key partners and stakeholders at the 31st edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), aiming to exhibit the emirate’s innovative and diverse destination offerings. The event, scheduled from May 6 to May 9, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will serve as a platform to showcase Dubai’s collaborative spirit and highlight its role in driving entrepreneurship and sustainability within the tourism industry.
According to Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, this year’s ATM theme, ‘Empowering Innovation – Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship’, will underscore Dubai’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability to catalyze growth beyond traditional tourism. The initiative aligns with the ambitious goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aimed at consolidating Dubai’s position as a top global city for business, leisure, and as the best city to visit, live, and work in.
Key partners joining DET at the Dubai stand during ATM include government entities, hotels, destination management companies, and tour operators. Notable participants include the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA-Dubai), Dubai Culture, Dubai Holding, and Dubai Health Authority.
His Excellency, Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), emphasized Dubai’s leading position in global tourism achieved through innovative strategies and robust public-private partnerships. He highlighted the pivotal role of entrepreneurship and innovation in driving tourism growth, in line with Dubai’s long-term economic development roadmap, the D33 Agenda.
Dubai welcomed a record 17.15 million international overnight visitors in 2023, marking a 19.4% year-on-year growth over 2022. The city’s continued momentum in tourism underscores its status as the No.1 global destination for the third consecutive year in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
DET will utilize ATM to raise awareness about its full-time programmes and the ‘Dubai Way’, an innovative training and engagement platform for tourism and hospitality professionals. Sustainability initiatives, including the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp and the Dubai Can movement, will be highlighted, along with the city’s position as a regional cruise hub.
DET will also organize the ATM Hosted Buyers Programme and showcase Dubai’s diverse gastronomy scene and year-round calendar of events, including the ongoing Dubai Food Festival and the upcoming Dubai Summer Surprises.
